MITZNER MEATS takes pride in producing meat products raised in a local and family atmosphere. We began selling beef and pork privately back in 2010, but decided it was time to market it in the J-MARt, our local BP gas station, in Wanatah, Indiana in the beginning of 2018. We believe that everyone should be able to know where their food comes from, and take great pride in being able to put farm-fresh and locally-grown meat on your plate.
Because of the high demand for our products, it is sometimes necessary to source meat from another local farmer. All meat that is sold with our label may not be raised on our farm, but it is cared for by another local family farm. 95% of the products that we sell are raised on our farm.
We feed all of our of our animals a hormone-free, corn-based diet as well as hay, vitamins, and minerals.
Majority of the animals that are sold in Mitzner Meats were born and raised on our farm.
We are determined to serve your family the highest quality products that we can, just like we have served ours.
Here at Mitzner Meats, we offer customers to purchase their beef in three different large quantities. These quantities consist of a whole, half, or one quarter of beef. Customers can call and place their quantity order with us, and we will deliver the animal to our local processing partner, Monon Meat Packing and Catering, Inc.
Once the beef is butchered, it is then allowed to age for roughly two weeks before the meat is cut. This process is key in helping bring out the flavor, tenderness and juiciness of the beef. During this time our customers work with our processing partner to choose exactly how they would like their meat cut and packaged. This includes determining the number of items per package, the thickness of your steaks and fillets, the size of the roasts that you chose to have, quantity of hamburgers in a package, and more! Our partners at Monon Meat Packing and Catering, Inc. do a fantastic job at making sure that your beef is processed the way YOU want. Their staff, as well as ourselves, will help you through the process to make buying our family-owned and family-raised meat a positive experience!
Customers then pay Mitzner Meats for the price of the beef, and pay the processing fee to Monon Meat Packing and Catering, Inc. When the meat is frozen and ready, customers pick up the beef from the processing facility. Once it’s home, it’s ready to be enjoyed anytime at the customer’s convenience!
